NO MORE STOLEN CHILDHOODS (NMSC) is a nonprofit organization committed to prevention, education, advocacy, and healing the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.   NMSC is seeking a self-motivated, hands-on and mission-driven leader with experience in the nonprofit sector to join our organization as Executive Director.

Our new Executive Candidate will embrace and embody the mission, vision and values of No More Stolen Childhood and possess the passion, skills and experience required for success and described in detail below. Additionally, familiarity with this field is highly desirable and with the Baltimore area and surrounding community essential.

Collaborative and Effective Leadership

The Executive Director reports to and collaborates with the Board of Directors to lead and deliver on strategic initiatives and operational priorities.  This individual builds strong partnerships with our highly engaged Board of Directors and committee volunteers, with a mutual interest in increasing the organization’s scope of reach and influence.    The Executive Director partners with the Board of Directors to ensure solid governance, fiscal sustainability, board development and board continuity.

Strategic Fundraising

The Executive Director is an accomplished fundraiser who, in partnership with the Board, leads, designs and implements an annual business development plan to meet short and long-term strategic goals.  This individual is highly skilled in cultivating and leveraging relationships across private, public and nonprofit sectors, and has proven experience in building revenue and philanthropic support.

Partnership and Coalition Building

NMSC values its many partners, working together to collaborate and build a coalition to execute initiatives in the child sexual abuse prevention field.  The Executive Director, as the primary liaison, demonstrates excellence in identifying, structuring and growing collaborative partnerships and engaging community members.

Communications and Advocacy

This position ensures prompt and trauma-informed communication to partners, donors, survivors, and community members.  The Executive Director develops an annual communications and public relationships strategy, then manages and executes with analytics, fundraising and programmatic goals. As the external face of the organization, the Executive Director possesses strong written and interpersonal skills and is an experienced, effective public speaker.  This individual serves a leadership role in advocacy efforts supporting child abuse prevention and the rights of the victims of childhood sexual abuse.

Program Development, Delivery and Evaluation

The Executive Director oversees all aspects of the creation, delivery and evaluation of our essential prevention and intervention programs.  Leading and leveraging staff and volunteers, this individual ensures NMSC delivers training initiatives with research informed and research-based curriculum including partner development, recruitment and retention of trainers, and evaluation metrics.\

Financial, Administration and Human Resource Management

The Executive Director is an effective, hands-on operational leader with financial and business acumen in the nonprofit sector. This individual develops and manages the organization’s annual budget as well as all aspects of financial and regulatory matters.  The Executive Director attracts, selects and retains top-notch staff, contractors and volunteers and provides inspiration, empowerment and accountability.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in a social services and/or social justice non-profit environment.  At least two years of managing staff and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting and financial reports.  A college degree in a related field is highly desirable, or its equivalent in closely related work experience.

This is a full-time, year-round, salaried position offering flexible hours, paid leave, healthcare and professional development opportunities.   A private office space and parking is provided.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
